And if you've got older kids, you may just need a person to have an eye on them to keep the dining room from becoming a battle zone. In either case, a mama's helper may be your ticket. Usually a 'mother's helper' is younger than a babysitter hired to keep an eye on the kids during the time that you're out. A mother's helper also would in most cases charge less than the average high school baby sitter. Perfect for at-home, part-time help.
Begin your own part time daycare. Turn your pain into a gain, and look after other people's children at your home for pay. Most states don't force you to be licensed for casual babysitting of just a few kids, but check with your state and town to make sure you're fulfilling all prerequisites. Make sure you have a schedule that remains structured in order to give dependable care. Giving a safe and fun place for several kids to remain while their parents are at work may be a great alternative to your own family's summer activities.
